Farmers can now access a range of new reports on the SRG User Portal, providing valuable insights into herd performance and helping them make more informed management decisions.

The reports bring together key information on production, milk quality, finishing performance and weanling sales, allowing farmers to assess how their herds are performing, identify areas for improvement and make better use of the data available to them.

Whether you are a dairy farmer looking to improve herd performance or, alternatively a beef farmer interested in finishing results and weanling sales, these new reports provide practical information to support your management decisions.

Co-op report

The Co-op report is a valuable tool for dairy farmers, bringing together important information on herd production and milk quality. It allows farmers to review their herd’s performance and benchmark it against other producers, helping them identify both strengths and opportunities for improvement.

The report includes:

  • Herd production and milk quality: An overview of key production figures and milk quality indicators.
  • Benchmarking: Compare your herd’s performance against other producers
  • Key performance indicators: Access important figures to help monitor herd performance and support management decisions.
  • Improving efficiency and profitability: Use the information provided to identify areas where changes in herd management could deliver improvements.

The Co-op Report helps dairy farmers better understand their herd’s performance and identify where improvements may be possible.

Herd of Origin

The Herd of Origin report provides an overview of cattle in the herd that have been finished during the previous 12 months.

The report displays herd averages for carcass weight, carcass grade, carcass fat and age at finish, alongside the individual performance of animals. This allows farmers to look beyond overall averages and assess how individual animals have performed.

The report includes:

  • Carcass weight: View the average carcass weight of finished animals and the results for individual cattle.
  • Carcass grade and fat: Review grading results to better understand the quality and consistency of finished cattle.
  • Age at finish: Compare the average finishing age across your herd with the results for individual animals
  • Individual animal performance: Identify differences in performance between animals within the herd.

By comparing herd averages with individual animal results, farmers can identify trends and assess variation within their herd, helping them make informed breeding and management decisions.

Weanling market performance

The Weanling Market Performance report gives farmers a clear overview of how their weanlings are performing at sale. It brings together key information on sale price, weight, age at sale and average daily gain, providing a useful insight into the performance of animals leaving the farm.

The report displays herd averages for:

  • Mart price: The average sale price achieved for weanlings.
  • Weight: The average weight of animals at sale.
  • Price/kg of liveweight: An indication of the value achieved relative to the weight of animals sold.
  • Age at sale: The average age of weanlings when sold.
  • Average daily gain (ADG): An indication of the growth performance of animals up to sale.

Farmers can also view individual animal results, allowing them to compare performance across their herd and identify differences in growth, sale weight and market value.

Making your herd data work for you

These reports are designed to make valuable herd information more accessible and easier to use. The portal combines herd averages, individual animal results and performance indicators to help farmers assess performance and identify improvements.

The reports are part of SRG’s ongoing commitment to helping farmers make better use of their data and unlock the genetic potential of their herds.
